On September 21st, an adult Red Fox suffering from Mange was admitted to the Wildlife In Need Center. Mange is a parasite found naturally in the environment that causes skin irritation, itching and fur loss. Mange is treatable if caught early. Unfortunately the fox develped a more serious condition, MRSI, the animal version of MRSA. This poor fox had to undergo surgery, a strict quarantine and regimented doses of medication. We are happy to report that the fox is recovering well!
