Last year we:
The end result of all of this work is that our youth participants attain the mastery of language, the critical thinking skills, and the confidence to make their life goals a reality.

"This is my second year in the WordCrew program and I still smile every time I hear the name. I don’t think I can accurately describe how much WordCrew has become a second family. This program is so, so, so, so needed today and every day, especially in a time like this, where people are so afraid to be who they are and say what needs to be said for fear of being ridiculed for their beliefs and values and perhaps for just existing. I’ve never been a truer version of me since I’ve been in WordCrew. The staff members of Forward Arts are so accepting and never before have I seen people that are more accommodating, kind and overall… just beautiful. And like, I’ve said before, I’m positive I cannot do justice in describing this program. I’m just lucky to have found such a safe place for me to be whole. I also am very fond of the memories I’ve had with WordCrew, which included a trip the Brave New Voices in Washington D.C. It was an amazing opportunity and I am so grateful. In all, I would never trade the experiences that I’ve had with WordCrew for anything, WordCrew Wednesday is truly the best part of my week."
