From Poverty to Opportunity
Kliptown Youth Program (KYP) provides opportunities to help children and youth rise out of poverty.
KYP's mission is to offer impactful educational and employment support so that youth can be the architects of their own exit strategy out of poverty. To make sure every child's basic needs are met, KYP provides two meals per day, school uniforms, and an afterschool center which offers computers, sports, arts and tutoring.
Examples of what donation levels can provide to help lift children out of poverty:
- $250 feeds a child twice per day all year and provides a school uniform so he/she can attend school
- $700 provides one child with all of KYPs programming (tutoring, sports, arts, food, etc.) for one year
- $5,000 provides textbooks or sports or arts programming for all KYP members for one year
- $10,000 provides a university education for one year for one student
